There seems to at least be modicum of anti-lunacy in Beaverton because the Air Penny III is coming back. We recently reported on the impending return of the “Eggplant” colorway and supposedly the white and varsity blue, but now another original Air Penny colorway is making a return-the black and varsity royal.
At this early juncture, there are no images but if the folks at Nike wish to do this sneaker justice, then what we should see is a shoe that sports a black tumbled leather upper with a lateral Foamposite wing. Varsity Blue shows up on the inner and as a stripe on the pull tabs. On the lateral ankle is a Penny logo, rounding out the upper.
Below the aforementioned upper is a heel Max Air bag and a forefoot Zoom Air unit housed in a double-lasted midsole and a black and variety royal rubber outsole.
The black and royal Air Penny III is scheduled to release November 20 at nike.com and select retail venues; they will carry a $155 USD sticker price.
